JCL operates three single-family residences that
are home to 14 men and women. JCL group homes are licensed and primarily funded
by the Connecticut Department of Developmental Services. Our homes provide
24-hour care and support in the areas of health maintenance, recreation and
leisure, daily living skill development, medication administration,
transportation, and more.
Supported Living (SLA)
Sixteen men and women live in apartments and
condominiums either alone or with a roommate. Supported living does not
typically involve 24-hour support. Individuals in SLAs receive support in
quantities identified as necessary to help them lead active and healthy
lifestyles in their community. The amount varies widely from person to person.
Day Support Options
JCL provides supplemental, lifestyle enhancing
support to several men and women living in local nursing homes. JCL employees
offer one-on-one attention in an environment that is often unable to spend
quality individual time with those that live there.
Judaic Programming
JCL offers year-round activities and events to
the Jewish special needs community. The Judaic programming calendar offers many
holiday related activities, Shabbat observance, compliance with Kashrut
practices, staff training in Jewish holidays and traditions and more.
